Burglary In Progress Foiled
Police Looking for Silver SUV

On December 12, 2011 at 7:44 PM Astoria Police Department received a report of a possible burglary in progress at the Daily Astorian Office at 949 Exchange, Astoria. Two callers reported that a male subject had been in the area and seen breaking a window. They then saw him inside the building turning on lights. Officers Decker and Symonds, assisted by deputies from the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office responded.

While checking the outside of the building they located a broken window. An employee that was working at the rear of the building let them in and the officers searched the building.  During the search of the building they found a male subject, dressed in a pseudo military uniform, inside the building. He told the officers he was the owner of the building and that he was also an FBI agent. Officers took the subject into custody. When he was searched the officers found ID from Alabama indicating that his name was Keidrick Rutledge and that he was 31 years old. Rutledge was staying at a local hotel.

Rutledge is not an owner of the building or an FBI agent. He listed several other professions as well none of which turned out to be true.

Rutledge was booked at the Clatsop County Jail on charges of Criminal Mischief III and Burglary II.

Officers are looking for any information regarding a silver SUV that was seen in the area at time of the burglary. If you saw a vehicle in the area or gave Rutledge a ride, please contact Astoria Police Officer John Decker at 503.325.4411.
