Advertisement solicitation for sports posters is NOT affiliated with the Astoria High School Athletic's Program.

On Friday 03/17/2017 Astoria Police Department received a report of a possible scam, soliciting funds from local businesses under the guise that the funds go to advertising for the Astoria High School 2017 Fall Sports Poster.  Astoria Police have confirmed with Astoria High School Athletics Department that there is no association between the school and the company, Sports Media, from Idaho Falls.  Astoria High School Athletic Director Howard Rub asked that local businesses NOT purchase any advertisement from this company.  He encourages people to always call the Astoria High School Athletic Department directly at 503-325-3911, Ext. 317 or by email at hrub@astoria.k12.or.us with questions related to advertising and donations supporting Astoria High School athletic programs.

“When you look at the small print on the invoice, it indicates that the company is not affiliated with any school.  Of course the header says Astoria High School and looks very official.  We encourage people to be cautious when they receive solicitations like this.  A quick follow up with the school will make sure that your money is going where you intended.”  Said Deputy Chief Eric Halverson.
